Navy Gateway Inns and Suites

**Reservations must be made through the DES Form 20 NLT 1 week prior to class start date to guarantee availability. Ensure "Student Quarters" box is checked on the Form 20. Without a reservation, on-campus housing cannot be guaranteed.

Navy Gateway Inns and Suites are available for JFSC students. The Navy Gateway Inns and Suites billeting office is located on the JFSC compound*, inside Marianas Hall, building SC-400, and is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All suites are assigned upon your arrival at the billeting office.

JAWS students are advised to review JAWS-specific housing information posted in JAWS section of website under Schools and Academic Programs ( more ... ).

If you elect to stay off-campus, statements of non-availability will not be issued; contact your servicing finance office for specific information regarding your entitlement for Basic Allowance for Housing.

The Navy Gateway Inns and Suites has furnished two and three bedroom/bathroom suites. Some with shared common living spaces and all with a fully equipped kitchen, shared washer and dryer. We provide free wireless internet access. If you plan on using your government computer, please ensure you have the ability to access a wireless network. We are a non-smoking facility. Due to assignment policies, you may expect to share a unit with men and/or women of all Services as well as the Interagency. The fee for the Navy Gateway Inns and Suites is $25 per day. American Express, Visa and MasterCard and Cash may be used as means of payment. Family members are not allowed in regular student quarters with the exception of weekends and holidays only at a maximum of 2 family members per suite; the additional fee is $5 per visitor daily. All visitors are to be registered at the front desk.

There are limited number of family style houses on the campus. The student selected for the Family Style Houses are billeted from an established priority list. Availability of all suites cannot be confirmed until after the student requirements have been met. If you choose to travel with your family, you should also make your own off-campus arrangements in case on-campus accommodations are unavailable. The billeting office maintains a few potentially available temporary lodging for families.

No pets are authorized in the Navy Gateway Inns and Suites under any circumstances.

NOTE: Students who are TDY/TAD en route and whose ultimate duty assignment is the local Hampton Roads area must sign in to their gaining unit prior to reporting to the College in order to start BAH entitlements.

*NOTE: If taking commercial transportation to JFSC, instruct the driver to take you to JFSC, not to Norfolk Naval Station.

JFSC gate hours are 0500-1800 (M-F) CLOSED nights, weekends, and holidays.
When the JFSC gate is closed, personnel must enter through NSA, Norfolk gate 5.
Individuals, arriving in commercial vehicles, should call the VQ, if they are not allowed access to the compound: (757) 963-9600, EXT: 0. The VQ will provide transportation from the gate.

Directions: From I-64, take 564 towards the Naval Base and take the Terminal Blvd exit to Hampton Blvd. Turn right onto Hampton Blvd. Go about 2 blocks. The Navy Lodge will be on the left across the street from the Joint Forces Staff College.

Accommodations: By-name reservations may be made up to 60 days in advance. JFSC cannot make block reservations. Reservations are reviewed every 14 days during occupancy. Rooms include a kitchenette, microwave, refrigerator, kit utensils, pots and pans and stove top unit. Rooms have single bed, 2 double beds or 2 double beds with a rollaway bed.

The Navy Lodge is NOT endorsed by JFSC.

All monthly charges can be consolidated on one, itemized statement. The bill may be paid by check, money order or with a credit card.

Electronic payments are welcome and can be made by direct deposit or credit card.
