SmartWebMove
All branches of the US military service can use SmartWebMove for CONUS to CONUS moves. Navy personnel can use SmartWebMove for shipments overseas, including Alaska and Hawaii. Civilian employees are not authorized to use SmartWebMove.
You must be:
- On PCS orders to move from your last permanent duty station
- Retired - moving to your home of selection to NTS
- Separating - moving to Home of Record, to NTS or Place of Enlistment.
If you are moving from any other unauthorized location, you cannot use SmartWebMove. You will need to come in and do an application in a class. Personally procured moves (the old city move) currently must be done in a class setting.
Navy personnel – electronic signature is accepted.
Army, Air Force, Marine Corp, and Coast Guard personnel must sign the first page of the customer summary, printed from SmartWebMove website, and fax it to the Personal Property Office at (757) 443-3725.
All personnel must ensure that the Personal Property Offices receive a copy of the orders authorizing the move.

SmartWebMove can be used only for the following types of move:
- In CONUS government move from Southside Hampton Roads, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Isle of Wight County, South Hampton County, all of the Eastern Shore, North Carolina counties and cities; Gates County, Currituck County, Hertford County, Bertie County, Moyock, Elizabeth City NC to any where in CONUS.
- Goods can be placed into Non Temporary Storage (NTS) from one of the above locations
- Goods being moved out of NTS from any CONUS location that has a SmartWebMove web site can be moved to any location in CONUS
- Navy service members only - goods can be shipped from the above locations (1.) to the following overseas locations as of 9 May 2004:
London, England; St. Mawgan England; Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; Keflavik Iceland; Lamaddalena, Italy; Naples, Italy; Sigonella, Italy; Atsugi, Japan; Sasebo, Japan; Yokosuka, Japan; Lisbon, Portugal; Republic of Singapore, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and Rota, Spain.
- Navy service members can also release NTS goods from any of the overseas locations listed above to a CONUS location that has a SmartWebMove web site.
